Customer journey

The customer journey is not a funnel anymore

Design for searching, scrolling, comparison, trust, and return—not an imaginary straight line.

01

Map behavior, not departments

Customers move between search, social, reviews, messages, stores, and peers. A useful journey map follows the questions and risks that change their confidence—not the company org chart.

Map moments of discovery, evaluation, reassurance, purchase, onboarding, and repeat value. At each moment, name the evidence the customer needs.

02

Close the operating gaps

Journey design becomes valuable when it changes ownership, content, response standards, product cues, or measurement. Otherwise it remains a workshop artifact.

Connect pre-sale and post-sale evidence. Retention insights often reveal the promises acquisition should make—and should avoid.
